1. Why do some people say that the Pope is the Anti-Christ?

  Most Protestant religions teach that the Pope, in his office of the Pope, will be the Anti-Christ.  A closer examination of the scriptures will reveal that the Pope is really going to be the false prophet who heralds the Anti-Christ.  Revelation 16:13-14 says, And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.  For they are the spirits of devils working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day...  The dragon is the devil (Rev. 12:9), the beast is the Anti-Christ, and the false prophet is the Pope.  These entities are tied together with spirits of devils, which if one could peer into the supernatural world, would appear as frogs. 

  Revelation 13:11-15 says, And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.  And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.  And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,  And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.  And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast...

 Notice that the Anti-Christ and the false prophet both have the supernatural ability to do miracles.  Watch out for a Pope who claims to be charismatic and claims to have the gift of healing and does miracles in the sight of men.  The false prophet will be to the Anti-Christ what John the Baptist was to Jesus.  The false prophet will preach that the Anti-Christ is the messiah.  The false prophet is a religious personality, whereas the Anti-Christ will appear as a world leader with fake religious undertones.  The job of the false prophet is to proclaim this new world leader as the Christ and to gather all the world religions together into one ecumenical fold.  This false prophet will be able to put on a spectacular show with fire coming down out of heaven, raising the Anti-Christ from the dead, and other deceiving miracles.
