Jerusalem Will Be

 A Cup Of Trembling

All That Burden Themselves With Jerusalem Shall Be Cut In Pieces

God Will Seek To Destroy All Nations That Come Against Jerusalem

The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, saith the LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him. Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it (Zechariah 12:1-3).

“There comes a point beyond which an operation of this sort becomes… morally unjustifiable," London's Telegraph said. "The humanitarian crisis in Gaza is so severe that a cease-fire is essential, irrespective of whether Israel feels it has achieved its military objectives."

By this logic, Britain should have thrown in the towel in its war against Germany by September 18, 1939 - 17 days into WWII. Instead, Winston Churchill fought on for five long years at an awful - but morally justifiable - cost in Allied and enemy civilian lives. The reaction of Israel's European allies in particular has been instructive. Having abandoned Israel as it defends itself against a transparently fanatical Hamas - and after Israel unilaterally uprooted its settlements and pulled its soldiers out of Gaza in 2005 - Israel will be mindful of how much their support is worth when the time comes to "take risks for peace" in the West Bank.

SPEAKING AT the Sunday cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert made Israelis feel proud when he summed up the justice of the struggle and denounced the world's callous reaction: "For three weeks now… Israel has been making an impressive military effort in the Gaza Strip in order to change the security situation in the south of the country. For many years we've shown restraint. We reined in our reactions. We gritted our teeth and absorbed barrage after barrage. "No country in the world - not even those who preach morality at us - would have shown similar patience and self-control. At the end of the day, the obligation to defend our citizens - after we issued many warnings - led us to the unavoidable decision [that we had] to defend our [people], whose lives had become intolerable.

"We knew in advance that this struggle would be neither easy nor simple. We did not delude ourselves that what seemed natural, clear and self-evident for any other country would be similarly accepted when the State of Israel is involved. But this did not, and does not hinder our determination to defend our citizens.

"We have never agreed that anyone should decide in our place if we are allowed to strike at those who bomb our kindergartens and schools; nor will ever agree to it...

"Israel is nearing its goal [of changing] the security situation in the south so that our citizens can experience security and stability in the long term. We must not, at the last minute, squander what has been achieved in this unprecedented national effort that has restored a spirit of unity to our nation. "The Israeli public, especially the residents of the south, have the patience and willingness needed. So does the Israeli government." Israel would have preferred to act with the support of those who claim to back our right to self-defense. In a cynical world, Israel must press ahead without it.

...In that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem. The LORD also shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem do not magnify themselves against Judah. In that day shall the LORD defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the LORD before them. And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem (Zechariah 12:6-9).

Hamas Response To UN: More Rocket Fire

Hamas Response to UN: More Rocket Fire

(IsraelNN.com) Gaza terrorists responded to the United Nations Security Council's call for an immediate ceasefire early Friday morning with a renewed barrage of rocket fire directed at southern Israel. A Grad rocket exploded in the port city of Ashdod shortly after 12:00 noon, landing in an open area and causing no damage but sending a number of people into emotional trauma. Three short-range Kassam rockets slammed into different sites around the Sha'ar HaNegev region at approximately 11:30 a.m. as well. All landed in open areas, causing no injuries or damage. Another three rockets, long-range Grad-type Katyusha missiles, hit Be'er Sheva at approximately 10:00 a.m. The rockets hit open areas and did not cause injuries or damage. At least 30 missiles have been fired at Israel since 7:00 a.m., when the now-familiar daily routine of rocket fire began with four long-range Grad missiles aimed at Be'er Sheva, the "capital of the Negev." Residents had about 45 seconds' warning of the attack, thanks to the blaring Color Red siren that wailed through the city and was broadcast over the radio.

Overnight, a false alarm was generated in Be'er Sheva by a malfunction in the Color Red incoming missile alert system, a problem which has plagued the system in that city since the beginning of Operation Cast Lead. A number of residents have complained repeatedly about the system, and several suffered anxiety attacks as a result of the overnight alarm. More than 450 short- and long-range missiles have been fired at Jewish, Arab and Christian civilians in southern Israel by Gaza terrorists since the Gaza War began. The Home Front Command has advised Sabbath worshipers in synagogues in southern Israel to stand away from windows when they pray and to leave their radio receivers tuned to a "quiet radio station" that announces warnings of incoming rocket attacks, but is silent the rest of the time. It also asked that at least one person in the synagogue carry a cell phone so that emergency help can be summoned in case of an attack.

Security Cabinet Votes To Continue Operation Cast Lead

Security Cabinet Votes to Continue Operation Cast Lead

(IsraelNN.com) The Security Cabinet voted Friday to continue Operation Cast Lead in Gaza despite a United Nations Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire. "The State of Israel has never agreed that any outside body would determine its right to defend the security of its citizens," read a statement released by the Prime Minister's Office immediately following the meeting. "The IDF will continue operations in order to defend Israeli citizens and will carry out the missions with which it has been assigned in the operation. This morning's rocket fire against residents of the south only proves that the UN Security Council Resolution #1860 is not practical and will not be honored in actual fact by the Palestinian murder organizations."

Humanitarian Affairs Coordination Center Opens

Parallel to the decision was the opening this week of a Humanitarian Affairs Coordination Center (HACC) in Tel Aviv. The center is meant to coordinate between the different organizations operating in the field and those of the IDF, according to the IDF Spokesperson's Unit. Its main focus is to expedite evacuation of foreign nationals from Gaza and coordinate the flow of food, fuel and supplies of goods to the humanitarian groups in the field. Hundreds of foreign nationals have been evacuated from Gaza since Operation Cast Lead began. Organizations represented at the center include the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC, USAID, World Food Program (WFP), the European Commission, the United Nations Special Coordinator for the Middle East (UNSCO), United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) and Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs. Representatives from Israeli governmental agencies and various IDF departments are also located at the center.

3-Hour Humanitarian Ceasefire

After several scheduling changes, a three-hour humanitarian ceasefire was established to begin in Gaza at 1:00 p.m., lasting until 4:00 p.m. On Thursday, Hamas terrorists did not respect the ceasefire and continued to fire rockets at southern Israel and attack Israeli soldiers in Gaza, despite the IDF ceasefire in the region. The daily three-hour period of "quiet" is intended to allow Gaza residents to stock up on free supplies of medicines, basic food commodities and other items provided by international humanitarian aid organizations.

And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn (Zechariah 12:10).

Why is the world against Israel? The world does not believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, The LORD God Almighty. When God said Israel is the apple of His eye and He promised to defend Israel for eternity, God meant it. It is written, the Land of Israel from the Mediterranean Sea, to Jordan, to the Northern bounds of the Euphrates River, and to Edom in the south is God's portion of the Earth given to the Jews (not Arabs). Anyone and everyone can debate and fight that truth all they want. However, they only have the punishment of God on their lives to look forward to in the end. There will be no peace in Israel as long as the world tries to break up the land of Israel and hand it over to the enemies of God. As the scripture states above, Jesus Christ will return to demolish the armies of the world that have surrounded Jerusalem to force Israel to give up her God-given inheritance. Then the Jewish people will look upon the ONE whom they have pierced and worship Him in truth.
