JERUSALEM
Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children (Isaiah 66:8).
The one prophecy that proves the Bible correct beyond a shadow of a doubt is this one, in Isaiah chapter sixty-six, concerning the re-birth of Israel. What nation, or people, has become a nation again after having been scattered throughout the world? A people who had lost their homeland and given to their bitterest enemies. Not only is this a miracle in, and of itself, but the Jewish people are surrounded by religious zealots who are determined to push them into the Mediterranean Sea. They want to annihilate and take over their rightful land promised by the Maker of heaven and earth.
God promised this land to the children of Abraham through Sarah and Jacob. This land was not promised to Abraham through Hagar and Esau. The rightful owners of the land of Israel are the Jews! The children of Hagar, the Edomites (Gen. 36:8), were promised other lands. According to Deut. 2:1-5 God gave the Edomites Mount Seir for their possession. Not only were the Jews given Jerusalem as their possession but the Bible gives a detailed survey of their borders. Genesis 15:18, In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt, unto the great river, the river Euphrates... AND Ezekiel 47:13-21, Thus saith the Lord GOD; This shall be the border, whereby ye shall inherit the land according to the twelve tribes of Israel... And this shall be the border of the land toward the north side, from the great sea (Mediterranean) the way of Hethlon... Hamath; Hazarhatticon, which is by the coast of Hauran. And the border from the sea shall be Hazarenan, the border of Damascus and the north northward, and the border of Hamath... And the east side ye shall measure from Hauran, and from Damascus, and from Gilead, and from the land of Israel by Jordan, from the border unto the east sea... And the south side southward, from Tamar even to the water of strife in Kadesh, the river to the great sea... The west side also shall be the great sea from the border, till a man come over against Hamath...
